Osama Bin Laden’s former driver, Salim Hamdan, who was convicted of supporting terrorism, Thursday received his sentence of five and half years in prison (including the five years and one month of his previous service at Guantanamo Bay). The prosecution had sought a sentence of 30 years to life. Hamdan was acquitted of providing missiles to al-Qaida and a conspiracy to attack the U.S.
Hamdan’s verdict will be appealed to a Washington military court.
