Court of Appeals Upholds Ban on Direct Wine Sales in Tennessee

The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled today that Tennessee can prohibit wineries from selling directly to consumers. This means that state residents can not buy wine directly through the Internet and have it shipped to their homes.

The court says federal trade rules allow Tennessee to mandate that consumer utilize wholesalers to purchase wine.
