The US House of Representatives voted Wednesday on a bill to postpone the transition from analog to digital television broadcasting from the original date of February 17 to June 12, 2009. The change in broadcasting will allow more airwave space for commercial wireless services and emergency response networks.
The vote followed a vote last week by the House blocking the bill under a special process that required 2/3 approval. The vote this week was a regular floor vote requiring only a majority. The vote was 264 to 158.
