Salmonella Found at Texas Plant

The Texas Department of State Health Services announced today test findings of peanut meal contaminated by the same strain of salmonella connected to the national outbreak at a Plainview, Texas plant.

The tests were conducted on February 12, 2009 after the plant voluntarily closed. The plant was operated by Peanut Corporation of America, which filed for bankruptcy after the outbreak. Texas health officials have recalled all products made at the plant.
